ReplyDeleteI agree to a point with the above anon, but not for the same reasons.
ReplyDeletePeople were expecting the militia to nominate, but Silence used the igs to announce it, which means the roleplayers, who regularly read the igs nominated.
Very few minmatar militia members actually roleplay, so the roleplayer's who nominated din't know very many. The person they do know, is Ava, as she is both a member of the militia and a roleplayer.
So the whole contest is a bit of a joke anyway because lots of militia members are getting pissed that someone they don't know that well is getting votes from other people they don't know at all. But as the damn thing is a popularity contest in the first place, advertised somewhere full of people Ava knows, what did you expect?
My personal choices would be Ava, Annah and Sasawong in any order you like.
Something else that Kala didn't point out is the bullshit on the forums about the whole thing. Ava most certainly isn't a "nobody" with a shit track record on the killboards. Most people just look blindly at K/D ratios and ignore everything else.
ReplyDeleteThis means they lose out on all of the actual context of the kills and losses - these things are what show how good someone actually is. Ava is primarily a solo pilot, so while she has fewer kills and more losses, those kills are far more demonstrable of her skills and abilities as a pilot than the zillions of kills and few losses of a lemming who flies in lots of larger fleets and whores onto mails left and right.
People shouldn't talk shit about killboard stats if they aren't looking at the context of the stats. Many of Ava's losses are due to being blobbed while out solo. Most of her kills were acquired while working alone. That context means a lot more than a K/D ratio alone ever can.
Blackbeard is the longtime front line fighter. these other guys are nothing. how the fuck is MISSY lorelai a front line fighter? ive only seen him scared to undock in lulm

ReplyDeleteFunny you said scared to undock, after ROSS's faction POS bit the dust i beleive the majority of common militia members in auga were scared to undock. The only reason PL is not at the aid of the amarr every weekend is because of Missy. (YOU should undock more, YOU would know this)

Ava's done some great things in the militia this year and breaks some of the monotony that can soemtimes creep in.

I don't understand why people hack on any of the fc's listed they all make good fleets for us to roam in they all have different styles that add to the enjoyment of the game
